An electric bike gives you the ability to cover a lot more ground than you can on a normal hire bicycle, and it lets you explore areas you may not normally tackle, like hills and steep bridges. And having some electric assist with the recent summer temperatures is probably the ONLY way to ride in hilly areas!
Want to head up to Highgate Hill and take in the view? That’s no problem at all – in fact it’s a fun, easy ride to the top. If you are pressed for time and only have a couple of hours to spare then, like one of our hirers who had two hours to kill after a meeting before he had to catch a plane to NZ, hire one of our electric bikes and have a blast exploring.
You will be amazed at how much you can see and how enjoyable it is to see it all. Southbank is so close and from there you can take in Kangaroo Point, the Botanic Gardens in the city, have a blast along the New Farm boardwalk, fly up the bike paths along the river through West End, Dutton Park. Even cruise around to the gorgeous campus at the University of Qld at St Lucia.
If you are staying in Brisbane for a few days then there are so many places a bit further afield you can enjoy and explore too. Ride to Bulimba and enjoy the cool restaurants and village feel. Take in the length of the Kedron Brook bikeway and keep going along the gorgeous boardwalk bike paths through the Boondall Wetlands. Ride out to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary along the Western Freeway bike path and explore the river suburbs on the way home after you have gotten your koala fix.
There really is so much you can explore. Just ask us if you are looking for ideas 🙂
